PD Aug 2004, EB-2 India
I-140/I-485 applied - August 2007 at TSC (non-concurrent)
I-140 approval - March 2008
Spouse 485/AP/EAD applied - August 2008 (received receipt notices)
Self EAD applied - August 2008 (received receipt notices)
Till date I have not received my FP notice. I applied for my EAD (even though I am not planning on using it) hoping to jump start my pending 485 and get the things rolling for FP and processing of 485. Surprisingly, I got my EAD approval email on Aug 17th and I received my EAD card in the mail yesterday. It is valid for 2 years. It says finger prints not available. No change in the pending 485 status.
I am totally perplexed about receiving the EAD without FP and so is my attorney. Can someone give me an idea of what is going on? Any input is appreciated! Thanks much!

we are july first week filers! I haven't opened up an SR yet .. intend to do that soon right after the holidays!
We have received everything else though - EAD/AP/RECEIPT etc. for both me and my wife (same's the case with my colleagues)

Technically under which conditions and criteria Eb1 and Eb2 would be applicable?
GCby3000 u wud still apply under Eb1 and Eb2 depending on the job requirement and ur personal skills. It is just that u will be Exempt from the Cap i.e. the yearly quota for GCs, IF you have an advanced degree in the US.
Now you can be an Eb2 even without a masters in the US, if you have outstanding management ability and ur job demands that kind of management skill level. In that case the yearly quota cap would apply to u, but if u have an advanced degree in the US the cap wud not apply to u.
What degrees are considered as advanced degrees in the SKIL bill maybe some on here can clarify. Is it the same definition as the STEM or is it different?

IV could not even collect 20K in the Washington DC drive. I hardly saw EB3 folks contributing (based on my observation, I might be wrong so take it easy). If every EB3 person contributes 50USD, it will be enough to run a campaign. Action is the key, not posting in forums. Hope we get out of this EB2 vs EB3 and as focus on visa recapture.

Immigration-law.com just reported that "As reported by the USCIS, the Service Centers are currently experiencing the receipting frontlogs. In some cases, there are frontlog of 45 days or longer...".

I did not get an approval for the 485 so was thinking what the process was here. Am I not supposed to be getting an approval notice in the email before the "Card Ordered" message came through ? I hope everything is over now, it was a long 51/2 years wait and just when you loose hope in the whole process this message turns up in my Inbox. I love this site and will continue to support it in whatever manner I can

Soilders returning from voilent conflicts have the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder( PTSD ) also called as Shell Shock . I coin this term "Pre Green card Stress disorder". or Pre Green Card SHock.
Dr Sanjay Gupta who seems be an immigrant himself has spent lots of hours researching "Shell shock " maybe we should send him this new term to research .
And last but not the least , Relax . Staying here is not the end of the world .We came here we tried very hard , if God forbid we fail . I personally do not mind one bit to go back to my motherland . Remember if US is teh present then India is the Past and India will be the future . Thats where all the action is now and will be in the future .
Sorry If my last paragraphs hurt the feelings of any die hard members . I was just expressing my way to reduce the tension and stress that is associated with the GC process .

Great job Mirage, if they can lift country cap for 2 years and work per law, it should resolve all the issues. Per their stats they published to DHS, they have 250K EB applications pending, even if you add 100K applications for the remaining, it should clear all the backlog.
Ofcourse CIS can kill it by saying FBI name check etc. But they can't do it for 250K applications pending. Even though I haven't filed my 485 yet, I support this.
