If I were you, I would look for opportunities that fall in line with your GC labor. System Analyst and Project Manager don't really go well together, leave alone the SOC codes. Your PD also seems to be quite close (relatively speaking).
If anything try to negotiate your external title with your prospective employer.

Approved I-140 is good enough for applying for three year extension. I don't think there is any rule to wait for 365 days after I-140. I guess the 365 day rule is for pending labour.

I need to clarify one thing though, my I-140 (which will be applied soon) is not pending for more than 365 days. Am I still eligible to file for 7th year?
Other thing is I also have a LC pending in PBEC (AD March 2005), but I am not with that employer and do not have any document/case number for that LC. Chances of getting these the that employer are bleak.

If you are making 200K+/yr, just bite your lip and stay put. There are very very few careers which give you such a good pay scale.
I don't think you can do a MS in CompSci with out a BS with same specialization as far as understanding subject matter goes, but you could possibly do an MS in Information systems or similar.
But it all depends on your GRE score. If you have a high GRE score with good percentile in quantitative section then you could get into a good program.
I came to canada in 2000.I have been in USA Since 2003.
I started the GC process in Ohio, moved to bay area in 2006,stated the process again, recaptured old PD( EB2 all the way). Was hoping to get GC in Aug 2008 when my PD was current for 2 months. Hope will get it this year.
After moving to bay area I saw lots of engineer,mostly software, seemed happy with jobs. Started doing some search and found that this is one of the least stressful jobs in US with great salary and growth potential. There is no more growth in my field and it is very stressful and draining.

fired shortly after becoming a citizen. I am from a country other than yours. Sorry about that. There is no particular website that represents immigration from the country I immigrated from.
The employer replaced me with a visa card holder. After I trained him, I was fired and my boss was fired.
I am a skilled programmer with advanced degree. Employers from the dice.com website refuse to even acknowledge my resumes. Being unemployed is no way to be a new citizen. So I am ready to give up searching and move to India,in search of programming work. All I want to do is write code. I do not desire to make a point or to annoy anyone, I just want to work and write source code and try to get on with my life.
What are my chances to find work with the giant IT corporations of India? I am ready to move today. Can I revoke my US citizenship and immigrate to your country??? Sorry sorry sorry if this offends anyone, I do not mean to annoy any of you. I just want to have a job and write code and I will be on my way.

This person talks about a "country other than yours". What does this person mean. And of course this person lost his/her job "because" he/she became a citizen. Guess what I discovered today? I found the filled in W7 form and notarized copies of my wife's passport in my house. All this while I was so confident that I did send the W7 form along with tax return form, but it turned out I forgot to do so :(. I called IRS and they told me that I need to fill in Amended Tax Return form (Form 1040X) now. On the contrary, my tax preparer (CPA) is saying I just need to resend Form 1040 and W7 and there is no need to amend as there is no change in figures. Whose words should I follow now? Please advise.

Hello All,
I came across this site while researching for *urgent* solutions or options that my friend needs to pursue or has.
These are my friend's details --
EB3 -- India.
I140 approved in July 2007.
485 filed in July 2007.
MS in Engg from USA.
MBA in Finance from top ten school in USA.
Has applied for couple of patents in tech field.
Author of few papers in tech field.
My friend worked for his green card petitioning employer for 7 years in a technical position on H1 visa. He had to leave this job under some unfavorable circumstances around a month back. He has now taken a job as Marketing Manager for a big firm and is using his EAD. Two weeks back he has received an RFE on his 485 application. (Very curious and bad timing indeed too). This RFE needs a Employment Verification Letter. The current position that my friend works as does not match the position description on his labor petition. The RFE reply needs to be sent in within next 2 weeks.
What are his options to reply to the RFE? One of the lawyers that was consulted said that since Green Card is for a future position, he needs to get a legit letter from a future employer that the employer is willing to hire my friend after he gets his green card.
Also suggested were EB2-NIW and self-employment options.
What would you suggest -- best course of action? Would you know anybody who has gone through a similar situation. Any fallback options that my friend needs to evaluate?
I really appreciate all your replies. Pl treat this as very urgent.

A few more questions:

I like them all Gary, but agree with Chris about the cloning out that bright white rock , or whatever it is, in the first one. Also, unless you've been there before, it's difficult to capture the enormity of those rocks. The footpath catches my eye in the second photo which gives some perspective on where you are positioned. B is a non-consulting company, and would need a very smooth transfer?

If you file 485 based on your previous approved 140, you are compelled to go back to your previous employer when your GC is approved.
So the options you have are:
1. File 485 based on previously approved 140. If approved within 180 days, go back to previous employer otherwise use AC21 to change employer to current employer. This presumes that your former employer is willing to continue support of your GC.
2. You could file 485 based on unapproved 140 since concurrent filing is still allowed.
The choice is yours.

The Gandhi's philosophy indicates the peaceful protest against obvious injustice. The USCIS/DOS decision to stop accepting I 485 from July 2 was the obvious injustice due to couple of reasons; First, it is un precedent and legally not right to stop accepting I 485 when they made big weekend rush to use all visa. Second, No one can suddenly on and off as thousands of people preparing stuff in advance based on the visa bulletin.
We can not use Gandhigiri for increasing visa number or expediting their immigration process. We can only request. it is not our right hence sending flower to PERM agency is not a good idea. Brahmastra (ultimate weapon) can be used at appropriate time only!
