If you leave US for 2 or 3 years and get back through a new employer, does your I140 priority date still holds good. A friend of mine got his I140 approved, left to canada and got his citizenship. He intends to move back and want to know if he can still use his priority date. Thanks.

US Citizenship is valuable. Never ever think of cancelling it any time. There are plenty of jobs available in USA for skilled programmers. Only thing is patience and perseverence in your job hunt.I do not want to comment your removal of job as there might be multiple reasons not necessarily skill. There are some jobs which require US Citizenship those will have less compettion. Also you need train yourself for the skills which are hot in the market. Job hunting is always challenging even if you have excellent skills and market is good.
In India also US citizenship is valuable as employers will give some preference as you can travel USA and some other countries easily.

What are my chances to find work with the giant IT corporations of India? I am ready to move today. Can I revoke my US citizenship and immigrate to your country??? Wow! Now I have three green squares. So I am getting my GC on Monday:) Now if only more people were to vote for me and I get to 5 stars, I have been told that I will be made the USCIS director. Then I will reverse the July memo from USCIS and make sure that they will accept all the 485s till end of July.:D How is that for a deal? So keep voting on then.
P.P.S - Now again, what am I doing posting here on a Friday evening. My wife and son are getting really mad :eek:
P.P.P.S - I just checked the stats page and there are over 1,800 members online. Kind of satisfied to think that there are at least so many more people getting beaten up by their spouses now. At this rate IV will be one of the major causes for a sudden spike in the divorce rates in the high skilled immigrant community.:eek:

Hi guys,
I am a new bie but in deep trouble,
My case is like this
Have valid I-797 - till - Jan 16,2009 ( now expired right )
Valid I-94 - till -Jan 24 , 2009 ( now expired right )
Applied for extension in --- Sept 2008( 5months before I-94 expiry date)
Applied for premium in -- Feb 26, 2009
RFE -- Mar 2, 2009
Denied -- Mar 31,2009
Trying to transfer my H1- to another product company under premium.
I heard if you appeal the denial, you cant file the transfer, so i dont want to appeal,
Please correct me if this is incorrect ???? gurus please help me,
As I know I dont have any status but denial letter says appeal with in 33 days.
Consulted PRODUCT COMPANY ATTERNEY , said you can stay up till 30 days.
Is it possible to transfer with out appeal or MTR for the current denial ?
Please advice, as I am already running out of time....

I find that Silverlight and related .NET stuff works extremely well cross-platform. Apps like Banshee (http://banshee-project.org/) are cross-platform (really, not like Flash and AIR which suck on Linux and Mac) and work wonderfully on every platform (alright, bad example: there’s not a Windows port at the moment, because of the underlying audio libraries, but it’s all C# stuff).

I have to go to India on 1st jan , 2009 for 2 weeks , for my brother's marriage on jan 14,2009, but my existing advance parole expires on jan 12 2009.
I have filed for the renewal of advance parole but I want to know as to what other option do I have , if I dont get my renewal advance parole by jan 1st ?
If my AP expires on jan 12th and I come back on jan 16th and tell the customs agents that i have applied for a renewal and just didnt get it before I left, is that acceptable?

When my labor certification was stuck at backlog elimination center, i was hoping that LC does not stand for "Lost Case" and now for some fre**king reason my early 2004 EB2 case is not being picked up when later cases are being approved, now I hope that GC does not stand for "Gone Case".
